Transport services over the New Year

On New Year's Eve, 31 December, buses operate to weekday timetables. On the New Year’s Day, a Sunday service will operate. Night buses have additional departures and the Metro operates two hours longer than usually.

Regional services
On New Year’s Eve, 31 December, regional buses as well as internal buses of Espoo, Vantaa and Kerava operate a Friday timetable. Both buses and commuter trains will run later than on a normal weekend, and also extra service will be provided. Also early morning buses 100N - 710N operate between Thursday and Friday.

The Kamppi bus terminal is closed at 2.30am on New Year's Eve night, after which buses to Espoo depart from Kampintori.

On New Year’s Day, 1 January, a Sunday service will operate. Also early morning buses 100N - 710N will operate. There will be additional service between the normal Sunday service and early morning lines.

Helsinki internal services
On New Year's Eve, 31 December, Helsinki internal buses operate to weekday timetables. The N routes and 0N routes operate. Night buses have additional departures. The Metro operates two hours longer than usually. The last metro from Ruoholahti to Mellunmäki leaves at 1.26am and from Ruoholahti to Vuosaari at 1.21am. The Metro feeder buses, however, operate normally until around 11.40pm.

On the New Year’s Day, a Sunday service will operate.

On the Eve of Epiphany, 5 January, a weekday service will operate. Early morning buses (N and 0N) will operate on the night between 5 and 6 January. On Epiphany, 6 January, a Sunday service will operate.

The Traffic Information Centre, tel. 0100 111, serves also over the New Year holiday period. Personal service is available on New Year’s Eve 6am - 7pm and on New Year’s Day 9am - 5pm.
