HSL seeks passengers’ views on bicycle transport on trains
HSL is conducting an internet survey on passengers’ views on bicycle transport on commuter trains. Respondents can win movie tickets.
From the beginning of this year it has been possible to carry bicycles on commuter trains in the Helsinki metropolitan area free of charge.
HSL trials free transport of bicycles on commuter trains this year. Bicycles can be carried on commuter trains free of charge on weekdays outside peak hours and at weekends, provided there is space. Bicycles are not allowed on commuter trains Mon-Fri 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm. Only passengers traveling with HSL’s tickets can take their bikes onboard free of charge. VR still charges an extra fee for bicycles.
