Helsinki Service Map expands to metropolitan area

Helsinki Service Map now covers the Helsinki Metropolitan Area municipalities Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, in addition to the city of Helsinki.

This online service lists and shows on the map public sector services, as well as some services provided by the private sector. The services listed include educational institutions; health, social and family services; cultural and recreational opportunities; services related to city infrastructure and maintenance; and rescue.

The Service Map now recognizes over 12,000 municipal metropolitan operations, which cover over 1,000 services.

Visitors to Service Map numbered some 80,000 and searches 160,000 per month before the map was expanded to cover the entire metropolitan area. In May 2011, visitors exceeded 92,000 and searches numbered roughly 180,400.
